Today, April 19th is World Bicycle Day and is an excellent excuse to enjoy Barcelona on wheels. The best way is to do it aboard our Rickshaws that will show you the city in a different way, visiting the most emblematic places.
Surely you have gone through the sites that we are proposing but believe me, it is not the same. This route, which begins in the Sagrada Familia and ends in the Ciutadella. Let’s go?
Home: Plaça de Gaudi with views of the Sagrada Familia. This is tourism by bike so take the opportunity to know the interior of the cathedral that will never be finished. By the way, watching the sunset from their stained glass windows is spectacular.
We continue with bike going down Provence. You will feel like in a video game of the number of stragglers that you have to dodge. When you want to realize you will find yourself facing the Casa Mila, La Pedrera. You have made 1,5 km. Do not forget to climb the roof, it’s like being in a work of Dalí.
Going down to Gràcia and in two minutes you will have Casa Batlló, whose facade emulates the skeleton of a dragon (we have a lot of imagination here). It is not always allowed access to your interior but if you are lucky, it benefits, because it breaks the schemes of any interior decorator.
We continue through Gràcia until arriving at Plaça Catalunya, witness of all the claims that have taken place in Barcelona. We turn on Avenida Portal de l’Angel and continue until we find the Archú Historico de la Ciutat de Barcelona.
Turn left on Baixada de la Camonja and you will find the Cathedral of Barcelona. It is not as well known as the Holy Family but it has an impressive façade and in addition, it “arrived” first.
Continue to Villa del Arte Galleries Barcelona, turning right by Carrer de la Tapineria which crosses Via laietana. We walked a little and we found the Picasso Museum. It is worth visiting inside whether you are a fan of the painter from Malaga or the last time you heard about him was in the school.
Following the route until we turn left by the Carrer de Manresa. When it coincides with the Carrer de l’Argenteira we continue to the right and there you find it, the Cathedral of Santa María. You connect with the Passeig del Born and pass in front of the Plaça de Fossar de les Moreres, which has that sculpture that looks like a red nail.
After a few meters with the Carrer del Comerç. Turn to the right and go along the Carrer de la Ribera. Finally, you will find the Parc de la Ciutadella. Perfect to lie on the grass and listen to the water falling from the waterfall. This fountain is one of the most beautiful we know so take a few minutes to enjoy it.
So now you know, go aboard our Rickshaw Barcelona is an experience you can not miss, whether you are a visitor like you live here also lifelong. Dare with the Funky Cycle Experience!
