January in Barcelona is very quiet, which is to be thankful after all the party hustle. However, this month neither music nor theater is missing.
1. Cavalcade of Kings
On January 5, starting at 18:00, small and not so small, they have an appointment with His Majesties Melchor, Gaspar and Baltasar, the only kings that fit the whole world. They will disembark in Port Vell and will cross the city passing by the Ciutadella, Plaza Catalunya or the carrer Sepúlveda. The illusion may have been long ago, but the cavalcade is quite a spectacle as old as you are.
2. Theater plays
January is the month of purpose, of reflecting on how we want to channel our life and take it with humor. The representations we recommend you have a lot to do with it. Bastard Philosophy is a micro theater that debates the great existential questions without reaching any conclusion, while Impromagia is a spectacle of laughter and illusionism in which everything is what it seems.
It’s what makes Barcelona look like the Jumanji film in January, especially from the 7th onwards. You’d better get around those chase hunters friends so that the stress, the pushing, the tails and the jerks of clothes are worth it.
In January, two musical events take place until June. Suite BCN Festival (January 16-June 29), an event held at the Liceu Theater that will bring in concert to Hombres G, Steve Hackett or Status Quo. Guitar BCN 2017, like every year, will put us between the ropes and the wall with a program of concerts of the most complete. It starts on January 23 with Lambchop and until July 6, will make us enjoy artists like León Benavente (February 16), Bigott (April 29), Loquillo (May 13) or Amaral.
